The short answer: Companies support this event! Generous corporate contributions cover many conference perks such as lunches, receptions, convention bags, notebooks, conference CDs and coffee breaks.
RDH Under One Roof (July 31 - Aug. 2 in Chicago) has grown enormously through the years. The conference has a reputation for providing quality continuing education in a relaxed atmosphere that focuses on personal and professional networking opportunities.
PennWell and dozens of other companies believe in dental hygiene. These generous sponsors provide the necessary financial support that keeps conference fee at an affordable level for the practicing dental hygienist. Without sponsors and exhibitors, the current registration fee would be five or six times higher.
More and more companies are recognizing dental hygienists as savvy consumers and decision makers. They know we are discriminating continuing education participants and wise purchasers. Let's keep the raising the bar.

If you are open to meeting new people, you will not feel like you are alone. You would not feel out of place, as this is one of the biggest families of dental hygienists one can meet.

I agree with Carol! This will be the 9th UOR I have attended and I ha. I have always traveled alone and have met up with friends from previous years and those I have met from Amy's List. If you are not a member, see the link and join. I may travel alone, but never feel alone! Looking forward to meeting you there.
